Chapter SIxteen
Rage knew heâd miscalculated when heâd followed Zoey to the restaurant the other night. Heâd only intended to watch, but when heâd seen her sitting across from that jackass laughing, heâd lost his mind. Peanut had tried to stop him from going over, but heâd had enough when theyâd been in the booth across from her for fifteen minutes without her noticing them. He hadnât cared that sheâd dumped the water on his head, but he had been surprised. When she was younger, she never would have dared to do something like that. Sheâd always been afraid of what people would think, or if her mother would approve back then. Now it seemed she was no longer concerned with other peopleâs opinions and damned if that wasnât sexy as fuck.
âBoss we just got the call. Weâre meeting the Black Souls at the rest stop near I-95 in three hours.â Franky informed him from the doorway of his office. He looked up noting that Franky was wearing his newly minted rockers. Last month theyâd made him a fully patched member of the club.
âGood, have everyone be ready to head out in thirty minutes. It looks likâ,â he began only to be interrupted by a loud slamming of the door into the wall and shouting from the main room of the clubhouse.
âWhat the fuck is going on out there?â Rage demanded as he jumped up and headed out of his office door right behind Franky. The sight that greeted them in the other room sent a chill through him. Three men were laying Bullet out on one of the tables after shoving everything off it. The man was almost grey and he was sweating as he breathed shallowly with blood everywhere.
âWhat the fuck happened?â He demanded as he moved towards the table.
âHe was sliced up bad. I donât know if heâs going to make it without an ambulance.â Thumper stated from where he was standing over Bullet, his hands holding a rolled up sweatshirt against his stomach.
âCall one,â Rage roared.
âI already did,â Diablo said coming into the door, his eyes hard as he moved to stand near Rage who stood a foot from the table.
âSomeone tell me what happened, now!â
âI donât know, we were on a minor run to the Blakley place with some new strains of cannabis that we were planning on using at the farm. I was waiting in the car, but when he didnât come out of the house for a long time I went in and found him like this. He was bleeding out from a slice across his stomach. Itâs fucking bad. Really fucking bad. Nobody was there and everyone else was dead. Fuck, why didnât I go in with him?â Crank grumbled.
âWhy didnât you call the ambulance from there instead of moving him?â Hemp demanded.
âThe other bodies had DA carved into their foreheads and there was illegal shit everywhere! I couldnât call the ambulance there for fucks sake.â Crank roared.
âFuck, isnât that something the club
